Meet the Designer

Black Lantern Jewels was founded by Courtney Merritt, whose work explores emotion, symbolism, and heirloom-worthy craftsmanship.

What began as a love for vintage and antique jewelry, quickly became something more, a fascination with pieces that carry meaning. Her earliest memories of jewelry are exploring her grandma's collection, talking about how they came to be with her and their history. Even now, every piece she acquires, she wants to know the history. Who loved this before her? What life did it have before coming to her?

She draws her design inspiration from these questions.

Each design is created with intention. Not to follow trends, but to create future heirlooms; pieces that feel timeless, personal, and deeply human.

The Wednesday’s Child pendant, the debut piece from Black Lantern Jewels, reflects this philosophy. A quiet expression of resilience, designed to be worn close and carried through every season of life.

Every piece is thoughtfully designed, produced in solid gold, and created to last for generations.

Because jewelry should mean something.
